Hi there,

As with all Service Issues and Planned Maintenance Events, this was posted to our Service Status pages at http://status.plus.net

Unfortunately, we scheduled this work in at the last minute, so there was not adequate time to email all CCGI users.
Hiya,

We've been reporting this in service status for some time - eg http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1181911677.htm and the linked planned maintenance alerts. You can subscribe to RSS or email updates for this information too.

I am surprised though if the site was down for longer than 10 minutes as a result of the storage upgrade, but if was that I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you still have any problems, feel free to drop me a line and I will try to look into this further for you.

With Regards,

I wasn't going to raise this as an issue seeing as you're still undergoing maintenance, but the reason this has come up was because an American reader was unable to access my website hosted on the CGI service. I have reason to believe that this is still the case. I've noticed that if I try to validate my site at validator.w3.org, I get an HTTP 500 error, while I can still access my site through my web browser. <a href="
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fccgi.donstreet.plus.com%2Fescape%2F">See for yourself...</a>

I've also noticed that I can't access the service through SSH or FTP, which was my normal method for administering the site. Is this related to the maintenance?
Update on my comment there. Accessing my site via validator.w3.org seems to be intermittent, rather than just plain not working. After battering the refresh button for a while, I've found that sometimes it works, other times I get one of two HTTP 500 error messages:

500 Server closed connection without sending any data back

500 EOF when chunk header expected

Still no FTP or SSH access.
